Join us after Friday’s performance for a conversation with Tesseract artists Charles Atlas, Rashaun Mitchell, and Silas Riener led by poet, critic, author and OtB writer-in-residence Claudia La Rocco, with an introduction by Emily Zimmerman, Director of the Jacob Lawrence Gallery at the University of Washington. This conversation will take place on the mainstage and will be filmed for OntheBoards.tv.
Claudia La Rocco is the author of The Best Most Useless Dress (Badlands Unlimited), selected poetry, performance texts, images and criticism, and the novel petit cadeau, which was published by The Chocolate Factory Theater as a print edition of one and a four-day, interdisciplinary live edition. She has been presented by the Walker Art Center, The Kitchen, the Whitney Museum of American Art, et al., and is also the first writer-in-residence at On the Boards. She is currently the editor-in-chief of Open Space, a project of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Emily Zimmerman is the Director of the Jacob Lawrence Gallery at the University of Washington’s School of Art + Art History + Design. Previously she was the Associate Curator of Programs at the Henry Art Gallery and an Associate Curator at the Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC). Her writings have appeared in BOMB, Big, Red & Shiny, and Contemporary Performance. Emily received her MA from the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College and her BA from New York University.
