TAYLOR MAC'S HOLIDAY SAUCE… PANDEMIC!
Conceived and performed by
TAYLOR MAC

Christmas as calamity.

Taylor Mac returns to (virtual) Seattle with Holiday Sauce … Pandemic! Join OtB favorite, 2020 Ibsen Award winner and MacArthur Fellow Taylor Mac with judy's longtime collaborators — designer Machine Dazzle, Music Director Matt Ray (who you last saw at OtB with Justin Vivian Bond) and producers Pomegranate Arts — as together we celebrate the most dysfunctional season.

Holiday Sauce… Pandemic! will blend music, film, burlesque, and random acts of fabulousness to reframe the songs you love and the holidays you hate.  There is more to the holidays than rampant capitalism and gift-giving and in Taylor’s world, creativity and imagination are their own spirituality.  This holiday season will be bittersweet for so many— Taylor Mac reminds us of the collective power of our chosen families, a message that will be of particular resonance this year when so many have lost so much.

Holiday Sauce is dedicated to the memory of Taylor's drag mother, Mother Flawless Sabrina, and every performance will honor a local elder by celebrating the monumental impact they have made as a mentor to the LGBTQ community throughout their life and career. These "Queens" have made a lasting impact, and it is a joy to honor their work and the inspiration they offer us all.

On the Boards and Seattle Theatre Group are SO excited to announce the Seattle Elder Honoree, Riz Rollins. Riz is a northwest icon and on-air host DJ at 90.3 KEXP. Join us in honoring Riz on December 12 at 7 pm. Read more about Riz on our blog! You can learn more about all of the incredible 2020 Queens on the Holiday Sauce . . .Pandemic! website. We will be continuing to celebrate Riz and the whole Holiday Sauce team at a fabulous Zoom after-party immediately following the performance- there might just be some surprise visits from some very special "holiday sauced-ed" guests. So don your holiday best (whatever that means to you) and join us in our Virtual Fubar!
