Angélica Liddell makes her North American debut with a solo work weaving together original text, a blowtorch and a paintball gun in an homage to the brief life of the British cellist Jacqueline du Pré. Her fearless style of theater and body art combine in a provocative performance that tackles pain, death, lust and the creative spirit.
Emerging from Madrid’s vibrant theater scene, Angélica Liddell has become one of the most sought-after artists in Europe. After staging an epic 5-hour performance at the 2010 Festival d’Avignon, she became the cause célèbre of the festival circuit. Liddell has been making original theater since 1993 and has received numerous awards including the Innovative Playwriting Prize from the Casa de América and the Ojo Crítico Second Millennium Prize in 2005 for her entire body of work.
