“The experience is soul-crushing, it shakes you to the core.” —La Segunda
Blending fact and fiction in a compelling and tender performance, a group of young Chileans born during the reign of Pinochet reconstruct their parents’ lives using letters, videos, old clothes, hazy memories and live rock ‘n roll. These children of policemen, bodyguards, revolutionaries and the “disappeared” examine family and country from all sides in an attempt to understand a complex past, present and future.
Lola Arias is a writer, director, actress and singer who has worked with everyone from professional performers to policemen, animals and babies. She has created work for the stage and site-specific performances, most notably in the Cuidades Paralellas, a festival she founded with fellow OtB alum Stefan Kaegi (Rimini Protokoll). Her work often bridges the gap between reality and fantasy. This will be part of her first US tour.
