A Letter I Hope in the Future, Doesn’t Need to be Written by Emily Johnson for Medium Feb 3, 2021

Emily Johnson is an artist who makes body-based work. She is from the Yup'ik Nation, is a land and water protector & lives on the Lower East Side of Mannahatta. She recently published this letter on Medium, which was to the National Endowment for the Arts relating to ethics and equity in dance and performance contracting. In this letter Johnson shares her experience, as a Yup’ik womxn and artist, with Jedidiah Wheeler, the Executive Director of Peak Performances at Montclair State University.
