Before Mark Morris became a household name in contemporary dance, he premiered one of his earliest works as part of OtB’s inaugural season. In this spectacular homecoming Morris and his company return to the intimate confines of the OtB Mainstage with a special program set to live music performed by the MMDG Music Ensemble. The evening features a world premiere, two Seattle premieres and a piece that has been heralded as “one of the masterpieces of the late 20th century” (The Guardian).

OtB was the first West Coast home of the Mark Morris Dance Group, premiering 13 works by Morris at Washington Hall in the early 1980’s. Now based in Brooklyn, the acclaimed Dance Group continues to cement its legacy through worldwide touring and its commitment to live music which has been featured on every performance since 1996. Back On the Boards invites Seattle audiences to experience the beauty, ingenuity, and humor of Morris’ extraordinary dances up close.
