• SD/Prism Dance Theatre, under the direction of Sonia Dawkins, brings a new dance work conveying the natural unity of humanity undermined by the competing interest of nations and the fraying ideas of citizenship and ideology. (Dance)
• ZETTEI domenech dance investigates how women in a domestic space can be powerless, sexualized, and objectified. (Dance)
• Making her 12MM debut, singer/songwriter Joy Mills performs 3 new songs from her upcoming recording Lake. (Music)
• Portland dancer/choreographer Eowyn Emerald Barrett returns to 12MM with a new sultry and sexy dance duet. (Dance)
• During intermission audiences will see the premiere of Heather Stockton/BlackRoseMovement new dance film time feeler set on the shore of Lake Washington. (Dance Film)
• Young theater ensemble boom! theater company, known for well sourcing literary giants in their work so far, presents an excerpt of a new work, delving deep into the worlds of Divisidero by Michael Ondaatje and Iphigenia and Other Daughters as their source material. (Theater)
• Rachel Slater performs Undertow, a dance duet laced with abandon and delicate precision in her 12MM debut. (Dance)
• Ella Mahler travels from Bellingham, WA to perform a new dance solo created in conjunction with a poet and a musician, originally conceived at Bellingham Repertory Dance's Phrasing: In Word and Dance. (Dance)
• Drawing inspiration from the work of choreographer John Jasperse and some sport coats, Markeith Wiley and The New Animals return to 12MM with a full tilt dance mixing modern and hip hop. (DANCE)
About the Curators
Matthew Echert is a former company member of Washington Ensemble Theater and a freelance stage manager. He currently is an arts writer for The Sunbreak and a development specialist at ACT Theatre, but mainly he is a proud On the Boards regular.
Timothy Kasen is the winner of our $12 for 12 Minutes Max guest curator drawing. He is the Owner/President of KasenPoint Inc., a Seattle-based marketing/communications consulting company. He is a longtime subscriber and supporter of On theBoards & 12MM. He currently is serving on the board of Theater Puget Sound.
