“A theatrical tour-de-force… Gatz is fascinating to watch: exciting and funny and extremely well thought out." — De Volskrant, Amsterdam
Gatz review in the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin
In the low-rent office of a mysterious small business, an employee finds a rag-tag copy of The Great Gatsby in the clutter of his desk and starts to read aloud. Weird coincidences emerge between his teeming office and the novel, until it's no longer clear whether he's reading the book or the book is reading him. Over the course of this intoxicating 6-hour theater experience, courtesy of theater mavericks Elevator Repair Service, every word of Fitzgerald’s great American novel is brought vividly to life with a cast of 13. Seattle is 1 of only 3 American cities to receive a blessing from the Fitzgerald estate to stage Gatz this season.
