Reggie Watts’ many talents—standup comedian, former front man of rock band Maktub, R&B soul singer and experimental performer—have made him an audience favorite in Seattle for over 10 years. In recent years his collaborations with director/writer and Washington native Tommy Smith, including performances at the past 2 editions of The Public Theater’s Under the Radar Festival (NYC) and the 2009 Sydney Festival, have received rave reviews from critics and audiences. Their most recent work, Transition, combines Teen Wolf, Stevie Wonder, apocalyptic overtones and a dynamic ensemble of NYC and Seattle actors with Watts’ trademark schizophrenic sound manipulations and storytelling. This engagement marks the first full length work to appear at OtB since 2001 by Watts, the winner of the 2006 Andy Kaufman Award for comedic performance.
