Choreographer Marie Chouinard has created some of the most provocative and talked-about dance in the world over the past 3 decades. With Orpheus and Eurydice, she evolves the propulsive movement and other-worldly theatrics of her earlier solo performances into explosive large-scale dance theater. One of the most anticipated engagements of this performance season, Chouinard’s dancers create sensory overload replete with pasties, heels, mechanical snakes and sumptuous movement. Chouinard's last visit to OtB was a solo over 25 years ago at Washington Hall, and this is her company’s first-ever visit to Seattle. In 2008, Chouinard was appointed as an officer of the Order of Canada, the country’s highest civilian award.
