Phone Homer

I remember nothing of the Iliad... and I don't know WHAT I just saw, but I loved it.  The energy... the hamburgers... not to be missed.  It's so OtB.

Brilliant execution of Dionysian madness ever done with burgers.

Having recently re-read the Iliad, Odyssey and several texts about the same for other reasons I felt adequately prepared to get all the in-jokes. Instead what followed was an incredibly literate portrayal of a truly Dionysian madness & rending revel only shy the wine. Michelle's hecatombs were truly full and sufficient and any ancient Greek deity worth their salt would have found them so. Obscure literary & religious references aside, a woman on and over the edge of a complete breakdown, Michelle's Clytemnestra was completely over the top wonderful. Her not so subtle commentary on our modern, "buy something to make yourself feel better" consumerist culture as the backdrop to increasingly disjointed Skype calls to the warfront at Ilium, her licentious cousin Aegisthus in Mycenae, Helen & Penelope, and her visions of what clearly must have been grey eyed Athena was grand. Her incredibly intense emulation of the chaotic randomizing effects of web browsing culture were the kind of ADD delighting showmanship I've come to expect from video artists in recent years, in a good way. All that aside again, well worth a watch. If I can gather my Helenismos friends together I would even happily see it again. Also funny as hell.
